Bolton Writing Desk (2023)

The Bolton Writing Desk was created for a private client to serve as workspace in their home office.

The end panel on the desk serves a dual function as a decorative element and a semi opaque privacy screen.  The design makes use of a repetitive pattern where the beginning angle in the lower left hand corner is perpendicular to the face plane of the leg and each successive iteration is laid over by 5 degrees.  The result is an optical illusion that provides movement as you pass the desk and creates a unique view of the end panel from various vantage points.

Materials:  Peruvian walnut and hard maple solid wood and veneers.
