Materials Used: Walnut, Cherry, Jatoba, Bubinga, and Granite
The client for whom this table was built approached me after already having purchased a granite slab. I looked at the slab and suggested wood tones that would accent the colors in the granite.
The leg design on the table and the bench are identical but scaled differently. This piece consists of many angular faces and no rounded edges except for the concave cherry piece in the center of the legs. I intended for the leg to appear as if it were a flower blossoming. When looking at its cross section it appears as if the sides are peeling back to reveal the cherry core.
This table could be recreated in different woods with a solid wood top or glass if desired.
